BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common vestibular disorders, and is treated effectively with particle repositioning maneuvers (PRM). The aim of this study was to assess the influence of BPPV and treatment effects of PRM on gait, falls, and fear of falling.
CONCLUSION: Stressful life events outside of deployment are important determinants of incident depression among National Guard servicemembers, but the effect of these events may be buffered by higher income.

CONCLUSION: This retrospective analysis of medical claims data identified patients with ASMD type B who had characteristics typical of this condition. A machine-learning algorithm detected further cases with a high probability of having ASMD type B. High use of ASMD-related healthcare services and medications was observed in both cohorts.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with PBS for tumor staging of NPC, PET/MRI was observed to be more sensitive in the lesion-based analysis of bone metastasis.

The partial response rate of 21.0% and median OS of 20.9 months in this cohort with 75.0%…
Gut barrier disintegrity and endotoxin translocation to the liver and systemic circulation are serious clinical complications associated with the stoppage of intestinal bile flow. There is no precise pharmacological option to prevent increased intestinal permeability after bile duct ligation (BDL). Lubiprostone, a chloride channel-2 agonist, has been shown to accelerate restoration of epithelial barrier dysfunction…
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The purpose of this review was to summarize important and updated information on sitosterolemia. Sitosterolemia is an inherited lipid disorder consisting of high levels of plasma plant sterols. This sterol storage condition is caused by biallelic loss-of-function genetic variants in either ABCG5 or ABCG8, leading to increased intestinal absorption and decreased hepatic…
Germline mutations in RUNX1 result in rare autosomal-dominant familial platelet disorder with predisposition to acute myeloid leukemia (FPD/AML). As genetic analysis is becoming increasingly prevalent, the diagnosis rate of FPD/AML is expected to increase. In this report, we present two pedigrees, one diagnosed molecularly and another highly suspected to be FPD/AML, whose members both received…
